Privacy Policy
Effective 4 July 2026. Plain English, no legal fog: what we collect, why, who sees it, and how to make us delete it.
Who we are
PropaneCostPerGallon.com is operated by Digital Signet, 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. For the purposes of UK data protection law, Digital Signet is the data controller for this site and its quote service. Questions or requests: [email protected].
What we collect
Most of this site needs nothing from you. You can read every price page without giving us any personal information. We collect data only when you use one of two features:
- Quote requests: your name, email address, town, ZIP code, tank size, tank type, and the service you need.
- Price and availability alerts: your email address and the state you chose.
When you submit either form we also record your IP address and the date and time of your submission in a consent log. We use this to prevent abuse of the forms and to keep a record that you agreed to this policy.
How we use it
- To send your quote request to up to three validated local propane suppliers who serve your ZIP code, so they can email you a quote.
- To email you the quotes those suppliers send back.
- To send the alerts you signed up for.
- To keep a record of your consent.
Who we share it with
Your quote request goes to up to three validated local suppliers who serve your ZIP code, and nowhere else. Suppliers see the details of your request, your town, ZIP code, tank size and type, and the service you need. They do not receive your name or email address: their quotes come back to you through us, and you decide which supplier, if any, to contact. We do not sell your information and we do not share it with marketing lists or data brokers.
Like every website, we rely on a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf: Resend (email delivery), Hetzner (hosting, EU), Cloudflare (DNS and security), and Google Analytics (aggregate site statistics). We require our service providers to process personal data only for the services they provide to us and in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
International transfers
We are a UK controller and this service is aimed at US consumers, so your data may be processed in the United States and other countries by us and by the service providers listed above. Where UK or EU data protection law applies to a transfer, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as adequacy arrangements or standard contractual clauses.
Legal basis
We process your data on the basis of your consent, which you give when you submit a form. You can withdraw it at any time by emailing us or using the unsubscribe link in any email we send.
How long we keep it
- Quote requests and quotes: up to 24 months, then deleted.
- Alert subscriptions: until you unsubscribe.
- Consent records: up to 6 years, because they are our legal record that you agreed to be contacted.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the data we hold about you (access);
- ask us to correct it (rectification);
- ask us to delete it (erasure);
- ask us to limit what we do with it (restriction);
- object to our processing of it (objection);
- receive the data you gave us in a portable format (data portability), where applicable;
- withdraw your consent at any time.
Email [email protected] and we will act on your request within one month. If you are in the UK or EU you can also complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk) or your local supervisory authority. If you are a California resident: we do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA, so there is nothing to opt out of.
Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are useful, in aggregate. The quote and alert forms set no advertising cookies and we run no ad trackers on them.
Children
This service is not intended for children under 13.
Changes
If we change this policy we will post the new version here with a new effective date. If a change affects how your existing data is used, we will email you first.
